Welcome to the Department of School Counseling January 2025 Learning Engagement Institute!
We have an exciting day planned for with an inspirational speaker, tier 1 focused learning and express sessions where you get to choose! We will wrap up the day with some horizontal team time to discuss topics important to your school counseling programming.
In this Sched listing, you will find the options available for the express session section of the day. You will get to choose two express sessions that will be 30 minutes each with time between to change rooms. It is a lot of learning in a short amount of time but we tried to give you plenty of variety!

Georgia is home to the fifth-largest military population in the United States, including 13 different military bases. Cobb County is home to Dobbins AFB which is the largest-multi-service reserve training in the world and is appointed 50 different aircrafts with nearly 7,000 take-offs a month. More than 6,000 soldiers are assigned to Dobbins AFB, many who are parents to school age children. School counselors play an integral role in ensuring military-connected students feel supported in their academic, career and social/emotional development. School counselors will learn to identify the unique needs of military-connected students within their schools and individual and small-group interventions to support these students.
